Access to Château d'Angers

There are plenty of options available to access Château d’Angers.

We recommend you choose soft mobility!

By train

Angers is served by various of TGV connections,  towards the Atlantic coast or Paris, Lille, Lyon, Brussels or even London.

The château is accessible on foot from Angers-Saint-Laud station (10-minute walk).

By bus

The historic building is served by the Château and Office du tourismestops on the Irigo urban public transport network.

The Angers-Saint-Laud bus station lets you take numerous long-distance buses.

By car

From Le Mans: A11 or D723 towards Nantes
From Nantes: A11 or D723 towards Le Mans
From Tours: A85 then A11 towards Nantes
From Rennes : D173 then D775 to Angers

Where is the entrance to the Château d'Angers?

Many tourists struggle to find the visitor entrance to this great fortress with its 17 imposing towers!

Entry is via the Promenade du bout du monde, to the left of theAngers Tourist Office when you arrive at Place Kennedy in Angers.

The access bridge is located on the north-northeast façade of the monument. Once over the bridge, you’ll find the ticket office on your left. In the courtyard, an orientation table guides you through the 20,000 m² of the site.

You exit the château via the same bridge by which you arrived.

Castle accessibility

To the left of the entrance to the Château d’Angers is a GIG, GIC parking space. In the middle of the monument’s access bridge, small cobblestones make it easier to move around in a stroller or wheelchair.

Three PRM parking spaces are also located nearby, on Place Kennedy, opposite the Angers Tourist Office.
