Le Jardin des Plantes is the first of the botanical gardens within the city. Created in the late 17th century it covers 10 acres with winding paths that reveal waterfalls and statues creating a serene and romantic atmosphere.
Le Jardin du Mail (opposite the City Hall) was also created in the 17th century. It follows the neo-classic style that is more typical of 19th century parks where flowerbeds and green open spaces co-exist with statues, fountains and a bandstand.
